I spent a year in the mountains of North Carolina at a missionary training camp. Lived without electricity, learned how to survive as a remote area missionary. Built roads, learned about dam and airstrip construction, cleared a lot of land, designed and blue printed an entire house, foundation to floors to finished house, rebuilt cars from breaks to engines and everything in between.
Aside from that, TMM is located in a knockdown dead gorgeous piece of the blue ridge. Just insanely varied and colorful. It was a real treat to experience such landscape for an entire season. It would have been worth it for just that.
